Membership benefits
One of the benefits of becoming a member is the society presents monthly talks for members and visitors. There are nine monthly talks throughout the year with a break over the December to February summer period. The subjects of these talks range from those focussed on the Peninsula area to those of a more national character.
Those looking at the Peninsula area, have involved such recent talks as Von Bieren and his bogus gunpowder enterprise to that of the Aboriginal antecedents of Bob Waterer, a local Collaroy Plateau resident. The wider realm has been explored through a recent presentation entitled " Malvern Star, Hubert Opperman, Cadell Evans and the History of Australian Cycling".
The venues chosen for these talks are located towards the centre of the Peninsula and close to public transport. Details of these talks are available through "Peninsula Historian", the Manly Daily will also contain information in their Diary page as to talks,
publications, walking tours or other activities.or through the President Jim Boyce
